The Foundation’s Calling
The Chris Souza Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit honoring the life of Sergeant First Class Chris Souza and all of our other brothers and sisters in service who have been lost while in combat or from complications and invisible wounds that they brought home.
Our duty is to aid, support, empower, and honor U.S. veterans and active duty Service members from all branches of the Armed Forces including their families in times of need or crisis. Our duty is also to the American public, to raise awareness of how any individual can assist a veteran, colleague, or friend in need and to reduce the stigma so often felt by veterans returning home from abroad. Through awareness programs and financial referrals and guidance, we provide services for those who may not be able to seek assistance on their own, to ensure and improve the quality of the lives of those who served.
Including in our duty is our passionate commitment to helping to put an end to the heartbreaking epidemic of the 22 veterans our country loses on average every single day due to suicide stemming from the suffering of PTSD and the invisible wounds that our Military Men and Women come home from war with after serving and fighting for our freedom, by raising awareness, education, providing resources and services.
Who We Help
The Chris Souza Foundation honors and serves all service men and women who have dedicated their lives in protecting our freedom. We offer support to service members and veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, and their families and dependents. Located in Richmond, VA, we seek to serve those in need both in our local area as well as on a national scale.
